DANCE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF SUSSEX
WELCOME TO SUSSEX DANCE
Sussex Dance is one of the biggest dance societies at the University of Sussex. Whether you are an experienced dancer or a complete beginner, we have something for everyone.
We offer classes in a variety of styles, including: ballet, commercial, bellydance, hip hop, tap, Afro dance and waacking. There are opportunities to perform and showcase your skills across the year, for example at our annual Sussex Got to Dance event.
All abilities are welcome at our classes - we simply encourage people to come along and try something new in a fun, open and friendly environment.

SOCIALS
We organise regular socials, where you will have the chance to meet others with the same passion for dance!
There are a variety of socials, all of which are fun to get involved in, including: themed nights out; joint events with other societies and non-drinking socials, such as dinner or a film night.

All of our upcoming socials are posted on our Facebook page by our Social Secretaries.
Sussex Dance has six competitive dance troupes who regularly perform and compete at inter-university competitions.
Our troupes are: Sussex Street, Sussex Ballet, Sussex Jazz, Sussex Contemporary, Sussex Tap and Sussex Bhangra.
We hold auditions at the beginning of both the Autumn and Spring Term and we are always excited to see some new faces.

We hold a variety of classes every week and you can check out the weekly schedule on our Facebook page to find out which classes are happening when. All classes are taught by our talented student teachers.
These classes are a great way to improve your skills, keep fit or to simply have a good time with other dancers. All abilities are welcome.

If you do not have a Sussex Dance membership, classes are £3. Alternatively, you can buy a termly (£25) or annual (£35) membership here, which will make all of your classes free!
